Pallet (Skid)
A wooden or composite platform engineered for mechanized forklift handling and unitized freight transport.
Term Definition
A pallet provides a stable structural base upon which multiple cartons are stacked and strapped together for streamlined handling. Goods are layered neatly, secured with tension banding, and enveloped in protective stretch wrap. Palletizing minimizes individual manual touches and prevents carton wear during transshipment.
Usage Example
«A commercial order of 40 coffee grinders was secured onto a wooden pallet with stretch film for truck transit.»
