Consolidated Shipment (LCL)
Grouping cargo from multiple independent buyers into a single transport vehicle along a shared route.
Term Definition
A consolidated shipment (LCL) brings together goods from various clients at a centralized warehouse before dispatch. All consignments share space within one long-haul truck or container travelling to the same destination hub. This structure enables each importer to pay only for the exact space occupied without chartering an entire vehicle.
Usage Example
«Three sellers consolidated their inventory shipments into one line-haul truck from Guangzhou, splitting overall freight expenses.»
